Cultivating and expanding emerging industries is a key measure to develop new quality productive forces and shape new advantages in industrial development. Located in Ma’an Sub-district, which accounts for half of the district’s industrial volume, this place is not only a highland for the development of traditional industries such as textile printing and dyeing, but also an innovative hotbed for the vigorous development of new materials and new models such as carbon fiber, intelligent equipment and circular economy. A set of dynamic data confirms the upsurge of innovation surging on this land: in 2025, the R&D expenditure of industrial enterprises above designated size in the sub-district reached 5.17 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.2%.
In 2025, emerging industries in Ma’an Sub-district gathered into chains and flourished. An industrial transformation led by scientific and technological innovation and based on green and low-carbon development is quietly helping to shape the future layout of Keqiao’s emerging industries.
Carbon Fiber Gathers into Momentum
Recently, in the spinning workshop of Zhejiang Baowan Carbon Fiber Co., Ltd., the production lines are running at high speed, striving to achieve a “good start” in the first quarter of 2026. Although this white tow is less than one inch wide, it contains 24,000 monofilaments, each thinner than a human hair. After multiple automated processes, rolls of carbon fiber precursor with a pearly luster appear in front of us.
For “Baowan Carbon Fiber”, 2025 is a crucial year for capacity ramping and efficiency improvement. In this year, Baowan’s PAN-based carbon fiber precursor production line was officially put into operation, which is also the largest carbon fiber precursor production base in the province. It has filled the key “bottleneck” link of precursor in the carbon fiber industrial chain, realizing the coordinated, innovative and high-quality development among precursor, carbon fiber and the application of carbon fiber composite materials. In Keqiao, a complete industrial chain of “precursor + carbon fiber + composite materials + scientific and technological innovation platform” has taken shape. As the main position for undertaking upstream and downstream enterprises in the carbon fiber industrial chain, Ma’an has gathered a number of leading enterprises in the industry, such as “Baowan Carbon Fiber”, “Baojing Carbon Materials”, “Baojing Composite Materials” and “Zhejiang Zhongying New Materials Co., Ltd.”. At Zhejiang Zhongying New Materials Co., Ltd., the production line with an annual output of 10 million carbon fiber composite products was also officially put into operation in 2025. Relying on an advanced intelligent control system, this production line mainly targets strategic emerging industries such as new energy and aerospace, focuses on the domestic high-end carbon fiber products market, and realizes high-quality industrial application. From overcoming the “bottleneck” precursor technology to forming a resilient and competitive whole industrial chain ecology, the picture of the carbon fiber industry in Ma’an Sub-district has been vividly unfolded.
Although the winter is cold, the workshop of Zhejiang Deshibo Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. located in Ma’an Sub-district is bustling with activity. Workers are busy with equipment installation and commissioning, some products have entered trial production, and the pace of official production is getting closer. “We strive to put it into official production before the Spring Festival,” said the relevant person in charge of the company with confidence. In the past two days, the company has received another new order of 5 million yuan.
2025 is a sprint year for “Deshibo Equipment” from the completion of the plant to the commissioning of production. As a landing project of Sanji Precision Technology (Guangdong) Co., Ltd. in Keqiao, “Deshibo Equipment” mainly researches, develops, produces and sells intelligent dyeing and finishing equipment, with business radiating to Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions. From Guangdong to Zhejiang, “Deshibo Equipment” settled in Ma’an also took a fancy to Keqiao’s solid foundation in the printing and dyeing industry. This place is not only the location of the company’s downstream customers, but also a forward position for the company to link with customers to realize the R&D of new products. From hardware equipment to software systems, “Deshibo Equipment” keeps up with the current digital wave, takes green energy conservation and intelligent control as the core features in product design, and continuously meets the needs of the downstream market. Intelligent equipment is an important engine for cultivating new quality productive forces. Backed by Keqiao’s strong advantages in the modern textile printing and dyeing industry, in recent years, leading equipment manufacturing enterprises such as “Sanji Precision” and “Yuanxin Industry” have successively set up production bases in Ma’an, injecting strong momentum into the extended chain development and collaborative innovation of Ma’an’s modern textile printing and dyeing industry. While improving the regional industrial competitiveness, these intelligent equipment can also enter the overseas market, bringing a new growth pole for the local industrial development.
Circular Economy Starts a New Chapter
At the end of 2025, a strategic investment news attracted great attention from the industry at home and abroad: Indorama Ventures PCL, a global leader in chemicals and circular materials, completed a 20 million US dollar capital increase in Zhejiang Jianxin Jiaren New Material Co., Ltd. The two sides will work together to reshape the new pattern of the textile circular economy.
Why has “Jianxin Jiaren” located in Ma’an Sub-district attracted the favor of industry giants just after its commissioning? Behind this is the solid strength of “Jianxin Jiaren” in the field of green recycled materials. In 2025, the first phase of the company’s 150,000-ton annual output green recycled new materials project with a capacity of 50,000 tons was officially put into operation, forming a benign interaction with the industrial chain at home and abroad. As the first domestic 10,000-ton continuous recycled polyester production line delivered as a whole, this project marks an important iteration of the chemical recycling process, achieving a double leap in product quality and production efficiency. In line with the “15th Five-Year Plan”, green and low-carbon will become the mainstream trend of the industry’s future development. Therefore, the recycled polyester products of “Jianxin Jiaren” have been recognized by many international brands as soon as they are launched.
Deep ploughing into recycling technology has become a common action of enterprises in Ma’an. In addition to benchmark projects such as “Jianxin Jiaren”, local printing and dyeing enterprises have also made forward-looking layouts through industry-university-research cooperation models. Last year, Zhejiang Ailis Dyeing and Finishing Co., Ltd. jointly established the “High-Quality Recycling R&D Center for Waste Polyester” with Zhejiang Sci-Tech University. When the popular “Zhejiang BA” League entered Keqiao, the cheering T-shirts sponsored by “Ailis Dyeing and Finishing” became a bright spot inside and outside the venue. These clothes made of recycled fabrics from waste textiles not only conveyed the green concept to the fans, but also made the value of recycling known to more people. We believe that this industry transformation driven by technology and coordinated by upstream and downstream will open up a new green growth track and inject new momentum into the vigorous development of Keqiao’s emerging industries.
