CAS Space’s Kinetica-2 Y1 launch vehicle, named “International Textile Capital”, was successfully launched recently from the Dongfeng Commercial Space Innovation Testing Area. The rocket accurately placed the New March-01, New March-02, and Tianshi-01 satellites into their designated orbits, marking a complete success for the mission. The maiden flight was carried out in support of major national strategies and key engineering projects.

This launch is the first flight of the Kinetica-2 (PR-2) rocket and plays a key role in advancing China’s commercial space sector. As the country’s first launch vehicle built around a Common Booster Core (CBC) configuration, Kinetica-2 offers both high payload capacity and strong inherent reliability, positioning it as a mainstay for the country’s future large-scale satellite constellation deployment and cost-efficient cargo missions.

The successful launch of the “International Textile Capital” mission represents not only a breakthrough in aerospace technology but also a significant step forward in Keqiao District’s industrial upgrading. In recent years, Keqiao has advanced its “133” modern industrial framework, accelerating the transition toward high-end, intelligent, and green manufacturing. The establishment of a super factory for the Kinetica-2 large liquid-propellant launch vehicle is a strategic move in partnership with CAS Space to develop a “space+” future-oriented industrial ecosystem. Once fully operational, the facility will have an annual production capacity of 12 liquid-propellant rockets, providing strong support for scaled manufacturing and routine launch operations. It will also drive the upgrading and clustering of local industrial chains—including precision manufacturing, advanced materials, and high-end equipment—bringing strong high-tech momentum to the district’s development and enhancing the region’s brand presence.
